Kentish Match, an independent wholesaler in Orpington, has invested in its first new generation Mercedes Sprinter van from Sparshatts of Kent.

Kentish Match supplies matches and wholesales a range of confectionary and other products to corner shops, newsagents and convenience stores throughout London and the South. It uses its fleet of five Mercedes Sprinters based in Faraday Way, Orpington and Caterham.

The 313CDI Medium model Sprinter is powered by a 129hp common-rail turbodiesel engine and has an Adaptive ESP stability control system.

Andrew Smith, partner in Kentish Match, said: "We buy a new van every year and they've always proved strong and reliable. The new model is a real winner, with a very high standard specification to which we've added optional air-conditioning. Our guys have to work in the centre of London and you don't want to be doing that at the height of summer without air-con."
