Raj Chatha has taken over as non-executive chairman of Nisa-Today's after Edwin Booth resigned from the role after just four months.

Booth said he had resolved to stand down after his company's decision to use its own central distribution facilities to deliver chilled goods to its stores, having had a central chilled facility for a number of years and having expanded its own central facilities with a new distribution centre in Preston in recent years.

Nisachill will continue to provide Booths - on a warehouse-to-warehouse basis - with Heritage own-label and selected supplier-branded goods, but it will make its last delivery to Booths' stores on September 29.

Nisa-Today's said it thanked Booth for the vital role he had played in leading the company and added that he would continue to play a directorial role.
