Maini Wholesale was the first recipient of a new award introduced this year at the Today’s Group Annual Member and Supplier Awards Dinner.
Announcing the new accolade, Nisa-Today’s corporate affairs director David Cullen said Maini had been awarded the Chairman’s Award in recognition of its consistent support of the group and for the progress it had made over the past 12 months.
United Wholesale (Scotland) scooped the first prize for Best Cash & Carry after its managing director Athif Sarwar successfully launched PCC (privileged customer club) with its retailers and introduced the Day-Today’s fascia to 30 of its best retailers.
Turner & Wrights took the award for Best Delivered Wholesaler and Nuttalls was the winner of the Best Specialist Wholesaler award.
In the Supplier Awards, Masterfoods was Best Grocery Supplier and Scottish Courage Brands won the Best Licensed Supplier award. Best Impulse Supplier was Cadbury Trebor Bassett and Best Supporting Supplier was Nield Group. Heinz Foodservice took the award for Best Foodservice Supplier.
