Key Lekkerland is looking to grow its KeyStore symbol group for 2008.

At the Key Lekkerland Members and Suppliers Conference managing director John Liptrot spoke about delivering success through KeyStore.

KeyStore currently represents 12% of turnover for the group and the variances from region to region provide areas for growth, he said. The KeyStores in the Filshill territory represent more than 20% of its total business, and Liptrot suggested that as a group Key Lekkerland should be looking to increase the figure to 20% nationally by the end of 2008.

The group will also be making it easier for smaller stores to join the symbol group. To qualify to join KeyStore, stores must be 1,000sq ft or more, have a weekly turnover of £10,000 or more and agree to stock the full product range.

To help smaller operators Key Lekkerland has introduced KeyStore express, which has a minimum of 500sq ft and lower limits for turnover and range.

Liptrot said: "Our aim, as a group, is to have 50 KeyStore expresses by the end of 2008 which, added to the KeyStores objective, would give us a group of stores operating under the Key fascia of around 500."
