Confex, the national wholesale trading group, has appointed Chris Wootton as business development manager.
Wootton will be involved in taking up a responsibility for a mixed portfolio including confectionery, snacks, chilled and frozen which he will share with David Lunt.
He will also be responsible for development of the Confex 'Classic Retail Club'.
Wootton has more than 15 years experience in the wholesale sector, the last five spent with Ferrero UK where he achieved profitable and sustainable growth with all the main trading partners.
Wootton said: "Understanding both the member and supplier needs is the key to developing Confex's true potential."
At the end of March, marketing director Julia Stiles left Confex to live with her family in France.
