Bestway Cash & Carry group opened its 50th depot last month in Enfield north London.

The 90,000sq ft depot, which is 10,000sq ft larger than any other depot in the group, is operating under the Bestway fascia. It has parking for 100 vehicles and was built at a cost of over £6m, including the site cost. It provides a wide choice of fresh and frozen food to the catering and independent retail trade as well as Best-In own label ranges.

A spokesperson for Bestway said that the new depot had settled in, with the catering side doing well. To coincide with the opening, Bestway is offering promotions on over 300 products lines until April 12.

Younus Sheikh, managing director of Bestway Cash and Carry group, said: "As it is a new building, we have been able to create what we believe to be the ideal shopping environment, with wide aisles and more space at checkouts and maximising the use of space, ensuring smooth customer flows and speedy checkouts."

The group will be opening a new Batleys depot in Gillingham during the summer.
