Hancocks has developed a range of 10 Halal jelly sweets.
For a sweet to be Halal it must contain only Halal certified gelatine and include 100% alcohol-free flavourings. Hancocks worked closely with suppliers to achieve this and provide complete traceability.
The range includes Cola Bottles, Fruit Salad, Wine Gums, Sugared Bananas and Peach Hearts. The range will be available in 1kg or 3kg bags with labelling to mark them as Halal certified gelatine.
Hancocks said the move to create the range was brought about by customer demand.
Richard Brittle, purchasing director of Hancocks, said: "A great many customers have been asking for Halal jelly sweets so we are pleased to be able to deliver this, and expect the range to sell very well indeed."
