Londis is encouraging its retailers to be 'local and proud of it' by celebrating National Independents' Week (NIW).
The group will be using its lorry drivers to distribute leaflets in the run-up to NIW, with ideas on how to create a themed week of activities.
Retailers will be provided with posters and stickers carrying the message 'I shopped locally and I'm proud of it' into the home. For participating retailers, two million Londis consumer leaflets will be available to distribute nationwide with the NIW message.
Ross Halliday, acting marketing director of MBL, said: "Many retailers already support their communities, whether it's offering home deliveries to the elderly, working with the local primary school or sponsoring the local football team.
"National Independents' Week is all about harnessing these activities under the NIW PR umbrella and to say 'thank you' to customers for supporting their local store."
Will Government proposals to ban the display of tobacco in retail premises damage the wholesale sector?
