JW Filshill was crowned the best wholesale business in Scotland at the Scottish Wholesale Achievers 2007 winning Best Retail Wholesaler (Delivered), Best Licensed Wholesaler (Off Trade) and Champion of Champions.

The £150m-plus turnover company supplies the KeyStore chain of convenience stores across Scotland and is the first wholesaler to win Champion of Champions twice, previously lifting the title in 2004.

Some 450 people attended the gala dinner and awards presentation, hosted by radio presenter Nicky Docherty, at the Sheraton Grand, Edinburgh.

Kate Salmon, SWA executive director, said: "We are greatly encouraged that some leading wholesalers chose to enter Achievers for the first time. I have every confidence that by highlighting the importance of the feedback aspect of the initiative, we will help suppliers to understand better the wholesale sector in Scotland and create more effective communication channels."

Other winners were: Best Cash & Carry Depot, Bellevue Edinburgh; Best Retailer Development Programme, Booker Kirkcaldy; Best Foodservice Wholesaler Delivered, 3663 Edinburgh; Best Licensed Wholesaler On Trade, Wallaces Express; Best Cash & Carry Catering, Booker Kirkcaldy; Best Training Programme, Brakes; Best Marketing Initiative, CJ Lang Wholesale Division and Employee of the Year David Howe Batleys Edinburgh.

In the supplier awards, KitKat won Best Advertising Campaign, the award for Best Marketing Initiative went to Whyte & Mackay, and Coca-Cola picked up the Best Overall Service award.
