Musgrave Budgens Londis has made two appointments, with Mike O'Brien as its IT director and Scott Wharton as supply chain director.

O'Brien joins MBL from the Dixons Store Group, where he was previously IT director for computing and corporate shared services.

His key objective is to improve and simplify the IT systems used by Budgens and Londis independent retailers. Also to establish a single operating model for the business by adapting the current systems to create a more standard way of working across the two store brands.

Wharton joins MBL from Tesco where he was network development director. He has previous experience at the Kingfisher Group and Whitbread.

Wharton said: "I want to develop a fully integrated supply chain for Budgens and Londis retailers that will be the best convenience supply chain in the UK from a cost, availability and service perspective."
