Bestway Cash & Carry Group is rolling out its £-lines range to more depots following higher than expected take-up.
The range was launched on December 1 in five Bestway and six Batleys depots in major conurbations and will now be rolled out to an additional eight Bestway depots and six more Batleys depots.
The range of 300 products with an RRP of £1 covers five categories - homeware, hardware/cleaning, stationery, kids stationery and toys/sweets - and is targeted at discount stores, market traders and small independent stores. Until March 1 all the products will carry an introductory price of 49p.
Younus Sheikh, managing director of Bestway Cash & Carry, said: "Customers have bought much larger stocks than we expected and have returned for more. Their reaction has been very good, with positive reports coming back from their own customers, demonstrating an increase in footfall at the retailers' stores.
"The Bestway website has generated a whole new group of customers from outside of our traditional territory and this has prompted us to accelerate the roll out to the extra stores so that we can fulfil the demand from customers."
Will Government proposals to ban the display of tobacco in retail premises damage the wholesale sector?
