The Confectioners Benevolent Fund has announced that the 60th Anniversary Candy Ball will be held at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, on March 24.

The Candy Ball is the biggest fundraiser for the Confectioners Benevolent Fund and last year the night raised more than £200,000.

The money raised will support people who have worked in confectionery and related trades, and the charity currently helps over 1,350 people.

This year the charity is celebrating its 60th Anniversary and the theme of the evening will reflect that, with entertainment and cabaret spanning the past six decades. The night will begin by taking guests back in time to 1947 post war celebrations, featuring stories and memorabilia from the industry.

The night is hosted by the fund's president Richard Bishop, the chairman of Sugro, and the fund's chairman Mike Denyard, the retired sales director of Cadbury Trebor Bassett.
