Sir Anwar Pervez, founder of the Bestway Group, was named Master Entrepreneur of the Year at the national awards ceremony.
The Master Entrepreneur of the Year award recognises individuals who have made a sustained contribution to the success of one or more businesses over a period of more that 10 years.
Richard Hall, UK markets' leader of Ernst & Young, which staged the awards, said: "The award recognises Sir Anwar's formidable business experience which has not only seen him build Bestway from a single corner shop to a chain of cash and carry stores that spans the country, but he has also diversified his business into new territories."
Sir Anwar had already won the award for top Entrepreneur of the London region earlier in the year.
