The range of fresh fish has been extended

Makro has relaunched its store at Rayleigh in Essex after a refit that cost more than £5m. It is the second in a programme of major refits following the first at its Charlton store in south-east London a year ago.

A focus on fresh produce, which has already proven successful in Charlton, enables it to offer 300 cheese lines, 250 fruit and vegetable lines and an increase in fresh meat and fish.

Twenty new jobs have also been created by the refit, which has extended the store by 21,500sq ft. They include specialists in meat, fish and wine to provide information at the store, and three customer consultants to provide advice for customers at their premises.
