Brakes has launched what it claims is the first own brand Fairtrade product in the foodservice sector.
Brakes Fairtrade Instant Coffee Granules comes from Fairtrade certified farms in the mountains of Colombia.
Phil Smith, product marketing manager of Brakes, said: "We have seen a continued interest from caterers for Fairtrade products, and while we already offer a varied range we felt developing an own brand product would give our customers a great choice as well as the additional value Brakes own brand products deliver."
The own brand Fairtrade instant coffee will add to Fairtrade branded products that Brakes already supplies, which range from coffee to orange juice and ice cream.
Smith added: "For Brakes it underlines our commitment to sustainable and ethical products, enabling our customers to buy from Brakes with confidence."
